A Legacy Built on Family and Values
The origin of W.J. Palmisano can be traced to 1950, when Warren Palmisano, Sr. built his first five houses in New Orleans following his return from WWII. Shortly thereafter, W.J. Palmisano Contractors was incorporated, establishing a foundation for what would become a respected company known for quality craftsmanship and deep community ties. This legacy shaped not only the company’s growth but also the values passed down through generations as Warren’s two sons, Warren Jr and Rodney, led the firm through the next generation.
Wes Palmisano, Warren’s grandson, began his construction career at an early age, working alongside his father, uncle, and grandfather at the family-owned W.J. Palmisano Contractors. After earning a Construction Management degree from LSU in just three years, Wes gained hands-on experience in the commercial sector, rising from laborer to managing large-scale projects. This trajectory shaped his leadership style and infused a “floor sweeper” humbleness into his guiding principles.

In 2013, Wes started his entrepreneurial quest by launching Palmisano, a commercial construction company influenced by his family's legacy and driven by his own vision. Two years later, W.J. Palmisano, the family business dating back to 1950, was positioned as the parent company and we diversified into the infrastructure sector. Palmisano rebranded to RNGD in 2024 as part of our True Builder evolution. The aligned identity leans into the moniker that began with our CEO’s daring vision and extends to the unique approach our Renegade Team is known for.

Over the years, the company has found unique ways to revolutionize the construction eco-system. With the launch of Renegade Academy, a series of workshops that help develop the next generation of construction professionals, the company established itself as a reputable industry thought leader. In conjunction with Wes’s vision for achieving a brighter future with access to opportunity, he established The Palmisano Foundation in 2016 to transform lives of underprivileged youth through construction initiatives. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated over $2.5 million to the Greater New Orleans community.
W.J. Palmisano has expanded into a diversified holding company with interests in a variety of businesses and real estate. Just as in our early days, W.J. Palmisano continues to honor the timeless principles of hard work, teamwork, and the company’s unparalleled reputation that drives its growth.
